CHECK THE INPUT BEFORE EXPLAINING THE RESULT
HTTPS redirect checker
Trace a public HTTPS redirect chain, inspect response codes and verify the intended destination. Identify loops and limits before checking indexing separately.
Start a check
Calculators and snippet preview run in your browser. Syntax checks send input to this server without publishing a result page. Do not paste tokens, passwords or private client data.
Result and scope
Waiting for input. No result is not zero.
Use the check to solve a problem
- Use the exact URL including its query.
- Compare the destination with the page the reader actually needs.
- Investigate loops, unexpected hosts or failed targets separately.
Follow the destination the reader actually reaches
Paste the exact public HTTPS URL, including meaningful query parameters. Review the sequence of response codes and destinations. A loop or unexpected hostname needs investigation even when another version of the URL works.
The checker uses bounded server requests and checks targets before connecting. A stopped chain can reflect a request limit, timeout or unsupported destination. It is not a browser simulation and cannot verify JavaScript redirects or the content a logged-in visitor sees.
For Page with redirect in Search Console, inspect the original URL and confirm that the final URL is the intended replacement. Check the destination's canonical and indexing separately. An intentional redirect is not an error that must become an indexed source page.
Follow the reader’s destination through every hop
Enter the exact public HTTPS URL, including parameters needed to identify the item or language. This tool uses bounded requests, not a browser checkout.
On a narrow screen, scroll the table sideways to read the verification column.
| What you observe | What to do | What to retain or verify |
|---|---|---|
| A chain reaches 200 | Read the final URL and page: does it answer the original task and preserve the intended variant/language? | 200 only establishes that response, not an equivalent replacement or indexed page. |
| Loop, failed target or blocked address | Fix the redirect rule at the observed hop; retain rejected targets without trying to bypass the safety check. | Repeat the exact URL after repair; blocked private hosts are outside the tool scope. |
Work through the distinction
Teaching chain: old guide → new guide → homepage is not a good replacement merely because the homepage returns 200. The final answer must match what the old reader wanted.
