Google Discover report missing? Check data coverage

AISEO Site editorial · Workflow updated

Read the conclusion first

Discover has no manual article submission that guarantees exposure. Check whether its report is available, then review the page's eligibility, image and reader experience. Missing reporting is an unknown state; a recommendation spike is not evidence of dependable future traffic.

Applicable conditions

Applicable to sites with relevant content that want to understand Discover performance. AISEO Site currently does not collect Discover data.

Before you open the report

The property’s available reports, the actual article and a relevant image you have the right to publish.

Use one concrete URL or report first. Keep account credentials and private visitor data out of shared notes.

Steps and verification

01

Identify the reporting state first

Open the correct native Search Console property and look for its Discover report. Save the available dates, page filter and report state. The report appears only when sufficient data is available, so its absence is not a measured zero. AISEO Site currently does not collect this report.

For a decline, compare the same complete periods and pages inside Discover rather than substituting Web clicks. Record whether the change affects a single article or the wider portfolio. Keep reporting delays and unavailable periods visible in the analysis.

02

Review the page and the image as a reader would

Check that the indexed article answers a real need, its headline describes the content and its facts remain accurate. Inspect the representative image for relevance, legal usage and useful cropping. Google's guidance recommends large images, at least 1,200 pixels wide, with large previews enabled.

Verify the delivered page's max-image-preview setting and selected image, not just an editor checkbox. Test mobile reading and ensure a crop retains the subject. Fix a misleading promise or unusable image for the reader; those improvements establish page quality, not a guaranteed recommendation.

03

Measure the outcome without turning volatility into a promise

Record the actual content or image edit and its release time, then observe complete Discover data. Check clicks, impressions and CTR together. A burst can end because interests and recommendation patterns change, even without a page defect.

Retain accurate evergreen material when useful; rewriting dates or publishing more pages is not a submission mechanism. Report Discover as supplementary traffic and distinguish an eligible page, an observed appearance and a sustained pattern. A tool that reads only Web data cannot verify any of those Discover outcomes.

Common mistake: Treat daily posting as a Discover guarantee

Recommendation performance fluctuates and is affected by many factors; article count cannot replace content value.

How to decide when you encounter different situations

Match your actual observation to a row before changing the page. If it does not match, collect the missing evidence first.

No Discover report is not a measured zero

Teaching scenario. Names, URLs and numbers illustrate the method; they are not customer or measured site results.

What you observe
Example: Web search shows clicks, but there is no Discover report for the property. A dashboard labels Discover as zero.
What it establishes
That zero hides an availability limitation. Discover eligibility, report availability and observed traffic are different facts.
What to do next
Label the report unavailable. Review the article’s usefulness, truthful presentation and image eligibility using the official guidance. Do not manufacture a customer result or promise recommendation exposure.

What counts as a checked result

If a report becomes available, retain its dates and page rows. Without it, record only the checks you actually completed, not invented Discover performance.

If a required check fails, keep the error and return to the matching decision branch. A blank record means unverified, not passed.

Leave with a checked result, not another vague instruction

Your deliverable
A report-availability record and verified content/image access, with separate observed Discover performance.
Stop and resolve this first
A missing report is not measured zero, and a large image does not guarantee recommendation.

Record missing evidence in the worksheet below. An unresolved test is useful information; a blank field is not a pass.

Checklist for this page

Fill in your own check results, then decide the next step. Blank means not yet verified, not normal. Content is saved only in the current local session and is not submitted to the server or AI.

Frequently asked questions

Will AISEO Site daily emails include Discover?

It is not currently integrated; data that is not integrated should not be displayed as 0.

Will an eligible large image guarantee Discover traffic?

No. Image preparation is one prerequisite, not a distribution commitment. Avoid changing dates or headlines merely to imply freshness.

AISEO Site's daily email follows Web search data. Use it for that separate baseline; a missing Discover report must not be interpreted from the email as zero.
